You can build a basic, mil-spec AR-15 and love it for life, but what really makes ARs fun is that there are so many options. It’s like “lego” for grownups (though we all like Lego too). This video shows you options related to rails, barrel length, style, and more. There’s a lot of fun to be had, and most people don’t know about all the great options out there! Check it out!

You don’t need very many tools for your build, but there are a few tools that are essential to completing your build. There are a few more that make the difference between frustration and fun. This video walks you through the tools you are going to need/want when you build your AR. Usually, the first build is so fun that you want to build a lot more. It’s worth investing in a good set of tools. Drop in to see our selection of cutting edge tools!
Did you know that you can build an AR in more calibers than .223 and 5.56? There are fun calibers like .224 Valkerie that doesn’t have any drop for over 1,000 yard. There are 9mm versions that make for great AR pistols. You could even build an AR-10 in .308! There are even new options for .223. The .223 Wylde is a uniqe chambering that can fire both 5.56 and .223 but is ideal for 500-600 yard shooting with .223! This is our favorite video. Learn about calibers and have fun!
We are not gun manufacturers. We do not provide how to training for gun assemblies. However, this video from 45Snipers does a great job of illustrating the components of an AR15 in this animated 3D video. We believe this video is a great educational tool, but it’s also just cool!
Watch the video and think through the parts you need for your build. When you come to the store we will show you all the cool options for every part.
This video from 45Snipers is a beautiful animation of the internal function of an AR15. We highly recommend watching this video before your build as it allows you to see how every part functions. Also, it’s just really cool! These guys did a great job on this video. This is a great way to get to know the interior function of your gun. The truth is you can know your gun inside and out, but you never get to see it function internally. This cutaway animation makes that possible. Enjoy!
Featured Build: Jay’s Vietnam Era Colt 302 (M16) Build…Plus How To Do Historical Builds
You know Jay from our other videos. He’s the guy who doesn’t talk loud enough and hides from the camera. In this video Jay (quietly) tells us about his Colt 302 (M16 Style) retro build. In the process, he walks us through how to go about doing a historical build. If you are interested in war history or want to learn about how to do a historical build of your own, this is a great video to jump into. Sorry the sound is not great (call the store and tell Jay to speak up in the videos). :)
